What is the maximum part size?
Our largest SLM machine can print parts up to 2,050 mm in a single build. For parts larger than this, we use assembly or segmentation strategies with tight tolerances.
What surface finish can I expect?
As-built surface roughness is Ra 5–15 μm. We offer post-processing including bead blasting (Ra 3–5 μm), polishing (Ra 0.2–1.6 μm), and machining to tighter tolerances.
Do you offer HIP (Hot Isostatic Pressing)?
Yes. HIP treatment is available to eliminate internal porosity and improve part density and mechanical properties, especially for aerospace and medical applications.
Can you print in copper?
Yes. We have a dedicated copper and copper alloy 3D printing system. Typical alloys include CuSn10 and CuCrZr.
What is the typical lead time for 3D printing?
Standard orders: 5–15 business days. Rush service: 3–5 days (subject to availability, surcharge applies). Large-format parts may require additional time.
What file formats do you accept?
We accept STL, STEP (STP), 3MF, and IGES files.
What is the minimum order quantity for MIM?
The standard MOQ is 10,000 pieces. Lower volumes (1,000–9,999) are available at a premium rate. Prototype molding (10–500 pieces) is available for pre-tooling validation.
What materials are available for MIM?
We offer 316L stainless, 17-4PH, 420, 440C, soft magnetic alloys (Fe-3%Si, Fe-50%Ni), Kovar (4J29), tool steels (M2, H13), and specialty alloys. Custom formulations available.
What are the typical tolerances for MIM parts?
Standard tolerances are ± 0.3% – ± 0.5%. Tighter tolerances (± 0.1%) achievable through secondary machining.
What is the typical lead time for MIM?
Tooling: 4–8 weeks. Production run (after tooling approval): 2–4 weeks. Expedited options available.
